Summary: Interactive story telling is a cornerstone of the traditional adventure game, making narrative a very important factor in such games.
To facilitate the scriptwriter's job, local indie video game development company
5¼ Games have designed and created their own script engine for Time Heist, their first video game, for which they have recently been awarded funding by the Malta Digital Games Fund.
With this engine, they place the scriptwriter squarely in the director's chair, allowing him to deliver a narrative which is as faithful as possible to his intention. Ultimately, this will translate to a better gaming experience and therefore a better product.
Time Heist will be a fun 2D 'point and click' adventure game developed using Unity, and themed around the history of the Maltese Islands. It will also be a tribute to the old adventure games which we have grown up playing and very fondly remember.
